Windows 8 will employ a new user interface featuring a new Metro-style, tile-based Start screen to better suit touch screen input. Users will be able to create a 4 digit PIN or a picture password for easier and quicker logon.
A re-designed File Explorer uses intelligence to bring relevant commands to users based on file selection, the Windows To Go feature allows users to create a bootable Flash drive with Windows 8 in it including the user’s programs, settings, and files, the upgrade boasts shorter boot times, easier restore and higher storage levels. Hyper-V virtualization software, which previously was only offered on the Windows Server, will now be available in client versions for the first time. This is a very big benefit for backup solutions and has been all the rage among our techs.
The upgrade will be available through windows.com through a download for $39.99 or at most retail locations for $69.99 for a DVD.
