From our Development Team:
We recently finished a "proof of concept" demo linking a custom inventory management application directly to a clients' Microsoft Dynamics SL accounting system that would eliminate the redundance of printing invoices and then re-entering the data into Dynamics SL. Other features of this application are instant invoicing (instead of having to wait up to to a month after jobs have been completed to process) and reporting that allows our client to see snapshots of transactions and their status so it's easy to act on those that need attention or process the ones entered after posting periods.
Although in the preliminary development phase, we have also written an app which enables data entry from an iPad to our Pilot.Dispatch software.
Magic software, the language we used for this custom software development, has announced the imminent support for iPad and Android devices, some time Spring 2012. Applications can be written on the PC and deployed on the mobile device as an App, which will dramatically speed up development time for future projects.
