The newest version of Office is now available and can be downloaded directly from Microsoft’s website.  The old reliable Office suite is available starting at $139.99 for Home and Student, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. For $219.99, you get everything offered in Home and Student plus Outlook by purchasing the Home and Business version. For all the bells and whistles, the Professional packaged includes all of the previous mentioned programs in addition to Access and Publisher, and sells for $399.99.  Keep in mind, if needed, each application can be purchased separately for $109.99 and OneNote for $69.99.

For those looking to take their work to the cloud, Office 365 Home Premium can be purchased through a subscription of $99.99 per year or $9.99 per month.  This includes online versions of the same traditional applications available in the home editions, as well as 20 GB of SkyDrive online storage. One annual subscription provides permission to install the suite for up to five PCs or Macs in one household. College and university students, faculty, and staff have the option of Office 365 University, which grants a four year subscription for only $79.99.

The current releases of Office 365 are for consumers only.  Office 365 for midsize businesses and enterprises will be available February 27.

Also, in case you missed it, qualifying previous versions of Office purchased between 10/19/12 and 4/30/13 can be upgraded to Office 365 for free. Get the details on the offer here.
