The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center would like to invite you to a FREE educational Disaster Preparedness program titled “Technology Continuity 101”.
Whether you have 1 computer or 100, this program will help you identify and protect data critical to your organization, and present options to recover your technology infrastructure following a disaster. The material is presented by IT experts in an easy to understand format, and is suitable for Non-Profit Community Organizations and Small & Medium Businesses, with or without an IT staff.
Attendees will learn to identify critical systems, and the data required to run your business; select the proper backup methodology, and develop sound disaster and business continuity plans. We will review actual cases where small businesses survived disaster, and some that didn’t.
Other topics include: Hazard mitigation, emergency plan development, communications (and lack thereof), identifying an alternate recovery site, available data backup methods, free planning resources, and what to expect following a disaster.
There will be an interactive audience discussion and QA session following the presentations.
The program will take place at the New Orleans Museum of Art in New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, April 24 from 2-5:00 PM. Doors open at 1:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the community, but seating is limited to registered attendees only. This is NOT a sales event; it is an informative disaster preparedness event presented as a public service of the technology community.
